Step 1
Measure the width of patio or deck (A). This
is the width. We recommend you add 12" to the
width to allow 6" on each side to prevent water from
draining on to your patio or deck.
Step 2
Measure from the home to the edge of the patio or deck (B).
This is the projection. We recommend
you add 6" to your projection to allow for water to drain
away from the deck or patio.
Step 3
Measure from the top of your door (D) to determine available
space above the door for mounting the canopy. This is the
pitch. The more the better. The pitch means from the height
at the back of the Stationary Awning to the height of the
front bar. You must allow a 3" drop for every 12"
of awning you extend from the house. See example below.
Step 4
Select the size of Economy Stationary Patio Awning that best
fits your deck. All TCT&A Industries Economy awnings are
premanufactured to specific sizes. On our size and costing
chart, when it says a 10' projection that means from top to
front. It does not allow for the pitch of the awning. If you
need to cover a 10'-0" deck and you were to select a
10'-0" Economy Stationary Patio Awning and had a pitch
of 30", the awning would extend only 9'-9" from
the house.
*TCT&A Industries Do-It-Yourself Economy
Stationary Patio Awnings are not designed to carry any snow
load whatsover. You must remove the fabric from the frame
(the frame can stay) in the fall before snow season, and reinstall
when you feel the snow season has passed. Your Do-It-Yourself
Economy Stationary Patio Awning should also be removed if
a hurricane is being forecast for your area.
